Our Trustees
Our trustees bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience to Stockport Women’s Centre. They are responsible for the Centre’s governance and strategic direction, helping to ensure that we are well managed and focused on improving outcomes for women.

Jo HancockChair
Jo has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for over 25 years in a variety of roles. She is currently Head of Services for a charity working with people with learning disabilities, leading on coproduction and EDI.
She has also been a trustee for a number of charities, and joined the centre as a Trustee in 2021. Jo’s special interests include mental health, HIV and empowering women.

Hilary ScottTrustee
Hilary joined the Centre as a trustee in 2009. With a marketing and planning background, Hilary has focused her efforts on devising and implementing a fundraising strategy for the Centre.

Heather HoyTrustee
Heather Hoy is a project and facilities manager for an electrical distribution company and has worked in the industry for the past 31 years in a number of roles.
Her work includes facilities management and project works associated with offices and depots throughout the north west. Heather was appointed as a trustee in 2009.

Maria RapanosTrustee
Maria is an experienced solicitor who practices Claimant Clinical Negligence. She has a broad range of experience of all types of claims but specialises in catastrophic injury cases including birth injury, spinal injury and amputation cases.

Lisa DollingTrustee
Lisa is a recently retired GP who has always had an interest in women’s physical and mental health. She is also a trustee for a charity for people with learning disabilities.

Sarah PowellTrustee
Sarah is an occupational therapist specialising in mental health with more than 25 years’ experience. She has worked for the NHS for 23 years and as the CEO of Stockport MIND for two years. Sarah joined the board of trustees in 2025 and is passionate about supporting women in Stockport.

Claire MilnerTrustee
Claire Milner owns a retail business. Her early career was in Human Resources with a number of multi-national organisations. Claire is a chartered member of the Institute of Personnel and Development
