Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers
Everyone that works for us, and with us, must protect the rights and promote the interests of women who use the service. They must strive to establish and maintain the trust and confidence of women. They’ll promote independence and choice for women, respect the rights of women and ensure their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people. They uphold public trust and confidence in SWC services. They’ll also be accountable for the quality of their work and take responsibility for maintaining and improving their knowledge and skills.
Safeguarding
Every woman and child has the right to be safe from harm and to live free from fear of abuse, neglect and exploitation. Therefore we aim to stop abuse or neglect wherever possible. We will prevent harm and reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to vulnerable adults and children. We safeguard women in a way that supports them in making choices and having control about how they want to live. We promote an approach that concentrates on improving life for those concerned. We work alongside other professionals, to play our part in preventing, identifying and responding to abuse and neglect and to help to address what has caused the abuse or neglect.
We are trauma responsive
We deliver all our services in line with the five core values of a trauma informed approach – SAFETY, TRUSTWORTHINESS, CHOICE, EMPOWERMENT and COLLABORATION.
